Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the battery life for the wireless dataloggers?
Typically, 12 months for standard dataloggers (-60C to 150C) and 6 months for ultra-low temperature datalogger (-80C to 100C)
2. Can I add calculations (i.e. Fo) after a test is completed?
Yes, any calculation can be easily added to the test data after completion.
3. Why does XpertLog not allow me to program the dataloggers after I completed a test?
You probably removed the loggers before the end of the test period and they are still collecting data. You need to set them to “Idle” mode in the equipment setup section.
4. The LTR or HTR bath will not auto-calibrate to setpoint even though I get a green check mark in the equipment setup. Why?
This is an indication that the communication parameters in the bath are not correct. Enter setup menu of the bath and go to “Serial”. Set parameters “half duplex” and “2400” baud.
5. The IRTD will not communicate and I get a red X in equipment setup. What is the problem?
The IRTD must be connected via the “blackbox” comm. Interface with a “straight” serial cable (not null modem type). If this is correct then the IRTD may have an internal ID# other than #1. Make sure the internal ID# is set to 1.”
6. We still manually sign all test reports so can we have just one signature line on the first page of each report?
Yes. The administrative section gives you the option of first page only or all pages.
7. Can multiple users access the database on a network?
Yes. The database file can be located on a central server for multi-user access.
8. Does the XpertLog system warn you when you need to change batteries or if calibration is due?
Yes. Under the equipment setup section, the user assigns battery change and calibration dates including the pre-warning interval.
9. My freeze dryer has very close shelf spacing so will your wireless dataloggers fit between the shelves?
Yes. The wireless dataloggers can be ordered with a “low profile” style construction.
